Are you hungry ? 27

I have to admit, I’m not much of a cook, but I’m thankful my wife is because the boys and I would be in trouble.  But if I had too, key word here is had, I would have to follow the recipe to the tee, and that’s for anybody trying to make a new dish.
You first have to make sure that you have all the ingredients, because if something is missing it’s not going to turn out the way it supposes to.  Now if you have followed everything that the recipe has called for, you will have the dish you desired, but then again sometimes it takes a couple of times to truly get the hang of it, and that my friends is how God works.  There is a recipe in following Him, and we have to make sure that we stick to the recipe at all times.  The Bible is the directions that we must follow in order to get the results we want, whatever they may be.  I can’t add anything on my own and expect the out come to be the same.  If I need deliverance, it’s in the book, if I need healing it’s in the book.  I need to love my enemies, there a recipe for that, or I need my faith to increase, there is a recipe for that.  My marriage is in trouble Lord, it’s in the Book, there’s a recipe for that, and Lord I need to be saved, truly there’s a recipe for that.  If we follow the instructions to the letter, we will have success in the things we ask of God.  Food for Thought, I hope you’re hungry.

Ps. There is also a recipe on how to be perfect in Christ, it’s there you just have to read it and apply it, and let Him do His work in you completely, and if let Jesus drive 100% all the time, perfection just wont be a word, but a reality in your life.

Are you hungry? 26

The wind is howling fiercely, as the heavens fill the air with the booming sound of thunder.  Lightning cracks the sky like a whip, as the rain fall beats upon the house.  Yet inside there is little movement as you sit up in your bed.  You glance at your significant other as they lay there fast asleep.  How are they doing it you wonder, as you jump at the latest boom that to you it seemed to shake the house.  So all you can do is pray Lord get me through the night.  Finally after awhile the storm passes and your nerves settle so that you finally get some rest.  You slowly get up in the morning as your spouse is already up refreshed and ready to go, and then you hear them say, “oh I see we got some rain last night,” and all you can do is shake your head.  In life storms come up all the time, the thing about them is how do we go about handling them.  There is only one sure way to get through a storm, and that is being anchored in Jesus.  Sure the wind my blow, and the thunder boom, but in Christ there is always that peace in the mist of the storm.  People may look and stare wondering how on earth are you so calm?  You just lost your job, you just lost a love one, or you just received a letter of foreclosure.  How are they still standing, and how are they still smiling?  Ah I tell you Jesus does nothing half way, and trusting in Him will surely get you through whatever storm you’re in.  Remember the disciples were panicking as the ship was caught in the storm, and they fought with all their might to try to stay alive.  But as they struggled where was Jesus?  He was laying there fast asleep.  So they go to wake Him up saying Master save us lest we parish, and we know He said peace be still, and the storm came to a halt.  You are powerless in a storm, there is nothing you can do, but trust in the own who control all things and let Him bring you through.   Food for thought, I hope you’re hungry.

Are you hungry? 25

If it’s one thing that travels fast, it’s news.  As soon as something happens, we’re hitting the phones, because we know something and it’s burning us up in the inside and we’ve just have to get it out.  So and so has last their job because they kept laying out of work.  I saw someone one the side of the road holding a sign asking for money to feed their family. What happened, the conversation goes, probably blew it doing bad stuff. And the next thing that comes out their mouth is…cause I heard.  I wont go any farther than that because the point is simple.  It’s so easy to talk about someone, but so hard to pray for someone.  We find it so easy to find fault, then to fall on my knees and say God help them please, you know their situation, deliver and set them free.  Believe me God saw it long before you did, but just maybe He allowed you to witness it so that you could pray for them, not see it and talk about them.  I’ve come to the conclusion that as Christians if we linger back and not walk closely to Christ as we should, our flesh will have us in a whole heap of trouble.  And we are going to make some very eye opening mistakes.  If by chance you are one to witness such an event, let prayer be the first thing to jump in your spirit, and not running to the phone. Believe me prayer will be the best thing for that person, and you never know someone may have been praying for you.   Food for thought, I hope you’re hungry.

are you hungry 24

We all have our favorite team that we root, or pull for.  We may even buy their clothing to show everyone that that’s our team.  There record doesn’t have to be great, but that would make it look better if it was.  Still you’re happy because that game that they should have lost, they won, and you stand tall knowing they won, even if they go and loose the next one.  And no matter what happens for the remainder of the season, you will know that each time they lace it up, your team has a chance to win.  Now as you know in life we all play for a team.  There are only two teams, one team will always be a winner, but on that team you have to follow everything to the letter in order to have success.  On the other team you can never be a winner, it only gives the illusion you are winning, but at the end you can never come out on top, because you are allowed to play as you want, and do as you want.  Enjoy having fun and not worry about that other team that is bogged down with rules and restrictions.  We all enjoy a winner, and the winning team is Team Jesus.  He was a winner from day one and will remain a winner always.  He never took short cuts and always followed the rules.  His path was not easy, but He overcame at the end, and now sits on the right hand of God.  The loosing team is Team Satan, and we know his story as well.  His fate is sealed and he’s doomed forever, and it’s no way possible for him to ever come a winner.  So why are so many playing, and pulling for him.  We will never admit to it, but our actions say it all.  Every second Team Jesus is bidding folks to come and play for Him.  It doesn’t matter how you played up until then, as long as you choose to play for Him now.  Food for thought I hope you’re hungry.

Are you hungry? 23

We must not let anything hinder us from fulfilling the will of God in our lives.  I will say it again; we must not let anything, or anyone hinder us from fulfilling the will of God in our lives.  Yet this is all too common in our walk with Him.  So many things are pulling us away from the job at hand, that things are not being finished, just simply left undone.  I know that it’s nothing wrong with doing things, and going places; (as long as it’s not a sin) these are everyday things in life.  But when we accept Christ into our lives, He takes precedent, and everything else falls in place after that.  Jesus told the parable about sitting down first to check and make sure you have everything to finish the tower, before starting and then realizing you don’t have everything you need to finish the job.  Sure we want to build, who wouldn’t want to do something great for God, but you have to make sure everything is there, because He said that people coming by will mock you saying, he started of but could not finish.  What are we to say, I’ve stopped building because I’m waiting on instructions from the Lord, in the mean time though I will do this or that to occupy my time until He is ready for me. Some may never pick up a hammer again, because God moves as we move.  If we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us, is we distant ourselves from Him, expect Him to do the same.  God has a job for all that He’s called, but He’s not going to let anyone disregard His work, because it can’t be done any kind of way.  He will take it from you and give it to someone else, before He allows anyone to mess up His plan.  The will of God is important, and if we are to make it, it must at all cost be fulfilled in our lives if we expect to make it in.  In my dream He asked me was I offended by this, I answered no, but I said I like to do this, and I’d like to go there, and then I woke up, but even now I see that He’s not looking for buts when it comes to fulfilling the will of God.  God is looking for finishers for the jobs that He is providing.   Food for thought, I hope you’re hungry

Are you hungry? 22

As we all can agree, perilous times are upon us, and sin has over ran its boundaries.  Wickedness has infested it seems every nook and cranny, and there is no letting up in sight.  And we as Christians today are faced with a reality check of just how close are we walking with God.  Our faith is being tested, because there are unemployed Christians too.  There are some who don’t know where their next meal will come from.  Some are even now walking that fine line, panicking because they are at their wits in.  As I said earlier our faith is being tested, but what can one do in times like these?  Seek the Lord, seek Him early, and seek Him while He still may be found.  Desire Him, long for Him, put Him before all that you have, be it small or great.  Cry out to Him; sing songs of praises through the tribulations that seek to steal all that one has.  In doing this He will give you wisdom, and godly understand, the very things you will need to lift you from the state you have found yourself in.  God knows you need a job, a car, and a home to dwell in, whatever your needs may be.  And all is His to give, because His word says, never has the righteous been forsaken, or His seed begging bread.  But He also said seek ye first the Kingdom of God in all its righteousness and all things shall be added unto you.  Never let your situation take you away from God, but allow it to press you closer to Him.  All things on this earth have to come to an end, but heaven is forever, so never loose sight of that.    Food for thought, I hope you’re hungry.

Thought of The day 00

Have you ever got ready to wash your car only to have to untangle the hose first, or get that kink in the hose where you go to spray, and the water barely comes out so you have to trace the hose back and release the kink.  It doesn’t sound like fun at all, but in order to keep the water flowing correctly you may have to do that time and time again.  Someone may say just buy a better hose, may have to look into that.  But my point is that as we walk with God we have to keep the Spirit of God flowing through us.  We can’t let things get tangled up, or allow sin to put kinks in the line.  Imagine being directly tapped in to God.  He is your provider, your healer, basically your everything, and without Him you have nothing.  Still some may not be feeling that closeness, at times some may feel their prayers are not getting pass the ceiling; something is hindering the Word of God and the affect that it was having on their life.  You will have to trace the line back, ask God to remove any kinks, untangle the hose, and make sure you are still tapped into the right source.  The times are so evil and the days dark.  And if you have only a little water coming from your hose because your hose keeps getting tangled, replace it there free( do your first works over) just don’t settle for getting by.   Food for thought, I hope you’re water is flowing correctly.

are you hungry? 20

Was reading this weekend in the Bible about the blind man on the wayside how when he heard the Jesus was passing by begin to yell out for Him.  Of course the people told him to be quiet, but the more they told him to be quiet the more he begun to cry out.  Until finally Jesus called for him and asked him want he needed and the man said to receive my sight, and then Jesus healed him so that he could see.  It struck a cord in me because I had to look at myself and say hey I’m to quiet. I know I need something from God, and He knows I need something from Him, yet I’m not yelling loud enough to show that I’m really in need of what He has to offer.  And it’s the same all over, the flesh everyday is saying be quiet, your bothering Him, He’s to busy right now, and some of us get quiet, and just sit there, watching Him pass right by.  “I’ll catch Him on His way back,” we think, or I have enough to get by until next time. There are so many people not being heal, delivered, and set free because they are thinking that way.   And the sad part is God really does want to move in our lives, wants to build up what has been destroyed, wants to make us whole again, but we have to cry out, we need to fall on our face and cry like Hannah cried for a child.  If someone gives you a funny look, you keep crying out, if the say it don’t take all that, go even farther.  It’s time to receive our blessings from the Lord.  God heard you the first time; it’s just how bad do you want it.     Food for thought, I hope you’re hungry.

Are you hungry? 20

Have you ever had an item of clothing that you just loved to put on, that favorite shirt, or dress the we were extra careful about because we didn’t want to mess it up.  But somehow or someway it’s always the one that gets the stain on it that’s so hard to get out.  Sometimes we even get upset with ourselves because we cared so much about it.  Of course we try different things to try to get it out, even paying a little more for the good stuff.  All we want is for the stain to be gone but if all else fails eventually we may have to break down and just buy another one.  Now upon receiving Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior we were issued a garment that is white as snow and we are at all cost to keep it that way.  Simple dirt, or grass stains don’t apply, ketchup, or mustard not a factor either.  But if there is one thing that can ruin this garment its sin and God wont have His people walking around with a stain like that.  We are His children and a reflection of Him so you know that He’s not accepting any mess when His Son died and shed His blood to remove that stain called sin.  I know we make mistakes at times I’d be lying if I said I didn’t, but Jesus ‘s blood can remove the stain and make us clean again.  I’m telling you God is not going to allow any spots, or blemishes, small or tiny.  Not when all we have to do is repent so Jesus can remove them.        Food for thought, I hope you’re hungry.

Are you hungry? 19

I understand that in this society there is a notion that you have to be competitive if you want to make it.   Second place is good, but it won’t cut it.  And there are some people that live and die by this notion, because they must be the best in what the do.  It just doesn’t have to in your work place; it can also be your neighborhood.  Your neighbor goes and gets a new car, so someone else has to get one too.  You heard Bob just got a 50” flat screen, Phil goes out and get 65”.  It just seems everyone wants to outdo the other but what it comes downs to be is vanity and vexation of spirit.  But I want to share something with you that if there is any case that out doing someone else is right, the one case where you can actually benefit from this notion of surpassing another, and could be the difference in getting into heaven, or being kept out of heaven.  Where coming in second to this can never be a good thing but very hurtful indeed, and Jesus himself made it so perfectly clear in thus stating, “For I say unto you, that except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.”  Religious simply will not cut it, sanctified and set aside in Jesus will.   Food for thought, I hope you’re hungry.

Are you hungry? 17

We find out a lot about ourselves when we find ourselves down in the valley.  Sure when we are on the top of the mountain, everything seems fine, we are in a good place, and we have a wonderful relationship with God.  But these barren lands are full of valleys, and in these valleys we find a side of us that we didn’t even know was there.  We experience pain, frustration, even anger about sometimes the littlest things.  Others may feel lonely, and depressed while the flesh feels rejuvenated and alive, flooding this vessel with doubts about the very one who has brought us this far, or even cause us to bring shame to His name.  Yesterday I found myself arguing over a senseless matter that shouldn’t have taken place at all.  And as that flood of emotions swept through, I said and felt things that should have never been.  Pride grabbed me and held me tight; to the point that saying I’m sorry was a sign of weakness, and my flesh was having none of that.  Still in the quietness of getting away, I found myself with a choice, either I could repent of my ways, or stay in this valley where I now found myself.  With time I’m thankful I came out that valley, ever learning that there are things in us that we may not know is there, and maybe the valley is a furnace that bring these things out and leave us with the choice to either burn it away, or weld it upon ourselves, making it even harder the next time to remove it.  God is very merciful, and He see can things we cannot see, and it’s painful to see and feel those things that He exposes for our good so that we can correct them.  My desire is the top of the mountain, and removing the things that are keeping me from that will make it more a reality.   Food for thought, I hope you’re hungry

Are you hungry? 16

Have you ever got ready to go on a trip and you wait until the last minute to get ready.  And it seems to never fail, something always gets left behind.  We‘re either yelling for everyone to hurry up, or either upset that we got caught in rush hour.  And what it really comes down to is that we didn’t take the proper time to prepare things ahead of time.  The same goes for being ready for when it’s time to go home, and that home my friends is heaven.  We should already be ready, and not getting ready.  Always keeping a watchful eye for we not the day or hour of His coming, but being ready nevertheless.  If we find ourselves in a panic then we were not prepared as we should.  Cross those Ts, dot those I’s, by all means make sure that there is oil in your lamp.  Let us all learn from the five foolish virgins whose oil ran out and they went out to get some only to find the door shut when they returned and they couldn’t get in.  Remember, you came into the world with nothing, and naturally you will leave out this world with nothing, but those who have prepared themselves will leave out with something that the naked eye can’t see.  The Spirit of God, the one thing that you can’t afford to leave here without, because if you don’t have that when your soul returns back to Him, it’s going to turn into a very bad trip.       Food for thought, I hope you’re prepared.

Are you hungry? 14

I’m finding that each and every day that the Lord blessed me to see, the first thing that I need to do is die.  When the wheels on my car enter into the parking lot, either I need to already be died, or I need to go ahead and die again.  When I’m going through my routine at work and I feel myself coming to life in certain situations, I need to quickly die, before something tragic happens.  And when I finally end my shift and head home for the day and my children are running around making noises, and already my day at work, or school was hard.  I need to remind myself to just die, and not do something I’d regret.  In this walk of ours we will constantly have to put this flesh to death, so that we can allow the spirit of Christ to work its perfect work in us so that we are not fulfilling the will of the flesh, but always doing the will of the Spirit.  The Bible says to mortify(put to death) the deeds of the flesh so that you don’t fulfill the lust thereof.  If someone rubs you the wrong way, be it at work or home, the last thing you want to do is handle it in the flesh, but if the flesh is died, then the spirit of Christ will have full access so that the situation is handled properly.  Temptation is everywhere and handling that in the flesh guarantees instant defeat, but again if we are living to the ways of the spirit of God and not the flesh, in Him we are assured absolute victory.  No good thing can dwell in the flesh, so let us live by the righteous ways of the Spirit of Christ so that through this same flesh we live in, His light will shine in us and men will see the works of it, and glorify the Father which is in heaven.    Food for thought, I hope you’re hungry.

Food for thought 07

I was lying comfortably in my bed this morning and I glanced to see the time.  I had one more minute to go and was thinking of a way to stretch it because I really didn’t want to get up.  Maybe five more minutes I thought, what’s the harm in that, I’d still have time to get ready and get to work.  Needless to say I made it to work on time, but I sent one son to school without a belt because there was no time to look for it.  I told myself I wont rush or yell to get the boys motivated, lest just say I accomplished one out of two.  I tell myself now, none of this had to be, give yourself time to do all the things that need to be done, without having to rush, and get upset.   There are many situations in life that we find ourselves lying comfortably in.   Be it in the ways of sin, or relaxed in the ways of God, and by that I mean taking His ways lightly.  And something is always telling us, get up from that situation but regardless how bad it is, the flesh doesn’t want to budge, yet common sense is saying I know I should but I’m just so comfortable.  As for the Christian something is saying learn of me, seek my face, call upon me while I’m near.  But the book is too good, I can’t put it down, I can’t pull away from the television, my favorite show is on. Don’t worry my toes are hurting, but I’m thankful God allowed me to see these things so that I can fix the things that hinder the spirit of God, not just in my life but also the lives of others.  Get up, and get on fire for Jesus, and don’t settle for just a spark.  Lets not make this easy on Satan, and at the same time leave a bad taste in God’s mouth.(luke warm)  Ask God to help you in your situations, regardless of what they may be or the size of the matter, there is nothing to hard for Him.  As the song says Get up, get up and follow Jesus, He’s the only one to save you.  Food for thought, I hope you’re hungry

A marathon runner sees the end before he gets there even though he knows he’s many miles away.  Because as soon as he looses sight of the end, he looses his desire to finish the race. Regardless of the heat, and no matter how much his legs ache, he knows at all cost he must finish the race.  He’s not in first place, no where close to the leaders, but to him now it’s all about finishing.  It would have been nice to be in first place, but he had some stumbles along the way, but he knew that he was better off getting up, then to accept defeat and stay down.   Many Christians are running today, but it seems that in their tiredness they begin looking for short cuts.  Leaving the path for smoother roads, those eased in Zion roads that really lead to no where.  So I’m encouraging all those who are struggling but are not giving up, those that are on the uphill part, but are continuing to haul that cross.  That one who feels they can’t take another step, but somehow keeps finding a way.  Keep your eyes on the finish line, and don’t loose sight of the goal.  You don’t have to come in first place, that place was taken a long time ago, but you still need to finish the race.  Jesus knows the pain is tremendous, but He also knows Heaven is worth it all.  Food for thought, keep running my friend.

Imagine you’re a lawyer and someone comes to you to represent them.  You begin to explain the situation and give your account of what took place.  Now I’m no lawyer, but I would think that any good lawyer would ask this question.  “Is there anything that you may have forgotten, or add because when I present your case I don’t need any surprises,” and if you concur them he can go about working on your case.  Now we know that Jesus is the best lawyer and when we get saved He goes and represents us.  If it’s one thing that Jesus requires its honesty.  He already knows everything, but sometimes we may have the habit of leaving little details out.  And Jesus being the great lawyer He is, politely ask is there anything you may have forgotten because He knows that Satan (the great accuser) will do all he can to win the case for your soul.  I think we all need to realize just what’s hanging in the balance.  So if you’re always wondering why there is always that problem that you can’t get pass, and you’ve continued to ask Jesus why am I  always going through the same old thing.  He may just tell you He’s had to get a continuance, because you have been not telling Him everything.  If we want God to move in our lives, we have to make sure that we confess all our faults, because until we do He cant represent us like He wants to because we still want to hold on to things that we feel may not be that important to mention to Him, but we fail to see that we are holding up the case.  This in fact works in Satan’s favor, so you’ll get no argument from him.

Are you hungry? 11

Do you remember the radios back in the day before they went digital.  They had the knob on the side and you used that to tune into the station you wanted.  You had to slow down when you got close and when you heard it you had to fine tune it a little until it came in clear. Sometimes you had to adjust the antenna or even move the radio around to get it in really clear. And finally you could enjoy the program that you wanted to listen to because when there’s static you can’t enjoy it like you want.   It’s the same when it comes to hearing from God.  We have to be tuned in to the Spirit of God so we can hear what He has to say.  Sometimes we have to let the Holy Spirit fine tune us, and allow it to make any kind of adjustments it needs to make so that His words can come through clearly.  Any kind of sin affects the signal strength and if not dealt with will kill the signal all together.  So we must make sure at all times we are lining up with the Word of God.  If He says go left, and we go right then we’re not tuned it as we should.  We find ourselves in places that are not right and when we finally realize what’s going on it could be too late because the whole time God was saying don’t go there, but we were not tuned in to Him.  People if you want to hear from Heaven stay tuned in to God.    Food for thought, I hope you’re hungry.

Are you hungry? 10

Are you hungry?09

It’s all around us, undetectable to so many, yet noticeable to a few.  It affects the strong as well as the weak.  Color blinded because it has no respect of color, it doesn’t dominate one color over the other it has a job to do and it can’t get caught up in that.  It is so powerful a single strand of it can destroy a whole body.   Yet billions of people are diagnosed with it and are at the point where they are embracing it.   The ones who can recognize it can only shake their heads and do all they can not to be infected by it.  Though it is all around them they know not to touch it, there is no good in it.   This deadly enemy is sin, and the mastermind fueling it is Satan.  You see it in how one walks; their actions speak louder than words.  If you could you would smell it with each lie told, or filthy communication that comes out ones mouth.  It is detestable to God, He just can’t stand it.  He destroyed the earth one time because of it, and sent His Son to die for it just so we no longer had to live in it.  So anyone who chooses to take part in it will have to answer for it.  If I had to give it a name I would call it the silent killer, because so many are unnoticing dying with it, never even taking the time to care.    Food for thought, I hope you’re hungry.

Are you hungry?08

There are events that happen in our lives that are categorized as defining moments.  A moment where something inside you changes be it good or bad, you’re never the same.  It could be the joy of marriage, or the feeling of welcoming your first child, or the pain of an ending marriage, and a death of a love one.  In our mind we take these trips down memory lane searching out our pass that shaped and molded us to who we are today.   Some can laugh about it now, while others may still feel pain wanting to let go of all the memories because of how it makes them feel.  But then there are some right now that is getting a feeling inside, an uncontrollable feeling of gratitude and grace, love and appreciation.  Someone may be even throwing up their hand in a show of admiration, and praise because they know that the most defining moment ever to take place in their life was when they had accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.  And that person knows when that occurred they were never the same.  It’s just a reminder because we forget sometimes, when things get tough, and we struggle to carry on.  One of Jesus defining moments was the cross, though it was a tremendous toil, it made a way possible for you and me.    Food for thought, I hope you’re hungry.

First let me just say I’m thankful for the rain, I know a lot of people with gardens needed it.  But I would have to say that the other day when we had the thunder and the lightning that was very intense inspired this thought of the day.  As my three boys squirmed around in our bed as it thundered and lightning my mind went all the way back to the time of Noah.  How the people had to be afraid of the rain that they never seen before, but also there may have been some thunder and lightning as well.  The helplessness of knowing that there was nothing they could do but accept they’re fate because it is too late to change it.  For 120 yrs. Noah preached the flood was coming while he prepared the ark, and out of all the people living at that time only Noah and his family survived.   Today there is another storm on the horizon and once again an ark is prepared.   The ark prepared is Jesus Christ himself, and right now there is still time to get aboard.  The gospel is being preached all over, and invitations are being sent out.   Those who are already on the ark must remain there at all cost.  There is nothing, nor anyone outside the ark that is worth going back for.  If you leave for such a thing, who is to say you would make it back.  God shut the door on Noah’s ark, and no one was able to get in when it started to rain.     Food for thought, I hope you’re hungry.

Are you hungry? 07

A professional basketball player or any professional player just doesn’t get where they’re at without first proving themselves.  No owner will pay theses players the money they are making just because they like their smile and they have the money to blow.   But each player works hard on their trade, they put the proper time in to improve so they can get better and better because they know that the better they are the more money they are expected to make on there next contract.  Now as Christians we can take this and realize that the more time we spend getting closer to Jesus, the more we can make an impact on spreading the gospel.  It would be very hard to go out and work in the fields and not have the proper teachings and effectively work.  When first coming to Christ we must first learn of Him, learning His voice, be patient, and studying ourselves to be approved.  Simply get the gifts that He has to offer so when He sends you out there, you are ready with the desire to do His will and not the will of the flesh.  Jesus told His disciples that truly the harvest is ready, but the laborers are few.  And it’s sad to say that some laborers today are not taking the time to learn the trade, and some fruit they are picking to early, and some they let lay wasting on the ground because they are taking the title of laborer with joy but not letting Jesus teach them the trade.    Food for thought, I hope you’re hungry.

Are you hungry?05 .

I’m sure we have all ran into this in our travels and each time we are left shaking our heads, and we have that look of disgust as we slowly come to a halt.  It’s a traffic jam and all we can see is cars after cars as far as the eye can see.  But as we look at the lane going the opposite way traffic is smooth sailing, and we say to ourselves I wish I was in that lane.  The Bible states that straight and narrow is the way that leads to Heaven, and few there be that find it.  So narrow it seems that it’s only wide enough to get the other leg in front of the other.  And as you stare ahead you may catch a glimpse of someone ahead.  The Bible also states that broad is the way that lead to destruction and many there be that find it.  Now picture an interstate as wide as a football field, and people are shoulder to shoulder, walking on top of each other.  And as far as the eye can see a wave of people great and small all marching in the same direction. It’s hot, people are ill, and the ramps are full of people trying to merge on.  There are exists where people can get off if they wish, but the farther down you travel, the fewer they become.  Which ever road we find ourselves on is by choice, God didn’t put you there you did.  If you haven’t gotten off the broad yet get off while there is still time, and if you’re on the narrow keep walking my friend, you’ve come to far to give up now.    Food for thought, I hope you’re hungry.

Are you ready?03

I was out in the field hitting golf balls yesterday evening, it was still pretty warm outside so I tried my best to hit from the shaded areas.  I would hit about seven balls then walk to where I hit them and then start all over again.  Some were good shots, and there were a few bad, and I did this for almost an hour.  I guess I can say I’m in to golf, and being in to it I have to put the time in to get better at it.  But through all the process of putting the time in, I begin to question the fact that maybe I’m putting to much time and thought into it.  Don’t get me wrong playing golf to me isn’t sinning, I just begin to question if I’m in to Jesus the same way.  Now this is where honesty is key in a matter like this because I think a lot of people are in to things that they spend a lot of time with, be it television, reading novels, playing basketball, video games, etc. and as I said before it’s not a sin to do these things, but everything at its proper time.  I know God is a jealous God and he expects His due attention to be given to Him.  I can’t spend about an hour hitting balls and think He’s happy with 20min. of reading and prayer.  This may just be for me but I know this much is true, God doesn’t play second to anything and if we want him to do great things in our lives we will put everything in its proper time because though it may not have started off as a sin, if not careful it will become just that.  We have to be careful, because if we are not careful we will make a God out of it, and God said though shalt have no other God before me.  I didn’t say this, He did.

Food for thought 01

He has always been, no one created Him but He created all things.  In His weakest state He is stronger than man, and if there was any foolishness in Him, He’d still be wiser than man.  Who would dare stand against such a mighty being, or even speak out against the great one.  He is the great I am from everlasting to everlasting, there isn’t nor will there ever be anything to hard for Him.  The thought of Him being angry would make the mightiest man tremble, yet His grace and mercy would make the vilest man seek redemption.  His ways and thoughts are not conceivable to man, if you were understand Him you would have to be abiding in Him anything outside of that you could only assume.  To a child of His, they know that He is their everything, and they solely depend on Him.  In Him there is no doubt because He holds tomorrow, and He is never late, but always on time.   He is a healer and provider; doctors have to marvel at His work.  They are taken back at what He can do, medically it cannot be explained.  The sad part is I think we forget sometimes just who He is, and sometimes doubt what He can do.  To describe Him in full, and speak of all the things He has done, and will do would probably take a life time.  I know Him as God; you too will have to know, and understand Him for yourself.

Are you hungry 01

When all we see is a lump of clay, to the man that can will it, to him it is art.   He knows how to shape it, and define it to what he wants it to be.  He carefully strips away the things that aren’t needed, and builds up the places that are lacking.  And though he is making all these adjustments, it is one thing that he constantly has to do and that is keeping the clay moist, because if it begins to dry out, it becomes difficult to work with.  Then at last at the end he has a finish product that he either loves or doesn’t, depending on how the clay acted.   To God we are clay, and we are molded basically by our actions.  Simply put, this is what he has to work with.  The more we are obedient to Him, the better the clay He has to work with.  The more disobedient we are the dryer the clay becomes.  We all know that there isn’t anything to hard for God, for what’s impossible to man, is always possible to God.  And asking for forgiveness for any fault is the water need to add moister to the clay because sin dries it out.  Though the process seems painful at times the outcome is truly worth it all.  I want to be a vessel of honor, set for the Master’s table, I pray you desire that as well.    Food for thought, I hope you’re hungry.

Are you hungry 00

Like little ants man is scurrying around trying to just get a piece of what another has.  A time where you have the haves, and have not’s, and even some of the haves are falling beneath the load.  It’s to the point some have sold their soul for just a small piece of fortune because they can’t take the struggle any more.  Gross darkness has taken over the land and the devil and his crew is having to work overtime because man doesn’t take much thought of his life anymore, the suicide rate has to be going through the roof.  You’re nervous walking down the street not even wanting to make eye contact because you don’t know the mind set that person where they may be thinking that you’re looking at them in the wrong way.  So much evil is all around us, and if you’re not anchored in Jesus you’ll be swept up in it all like everyone else.  Judgment has already been passed; there is nothing that can be done to reverse the decision.  There is a giant line drawn in the sand and now it is time to decide which side will you be on.  There will be no forcing, begging, or pleading.  The two candidates stand on each side and it is your choice to choose the side you want.  If it is to follow Jesus, then follow Jesus, and don’t let anything deter you from that path.  If it is to follow Satan, then that is your choice.  You may not utter it with words, but your actions speak loud and clear.  As of right now you can freely walk to the side of choice, but there will come a day when you will directed by the proper authorities to receive your due rewards based on the side you chose.  A man’s soul is worth more than the whole world, don’t let Satan tell you otherwise.     Food for thought, I hope you’re hungry.

are you hungry?

As I sent out earlier, I had to laugh at myself because at times I forget that when God does something, He doesn’t do it half way.  And I’m at awe when I see the results of what I ask from Him, and I can imagine Him shaking His head wondering when will this boy finally get it.  When I opened the Red Sea , I didn’t open it half way.  When Lazarus came forth, it wasn’t for a few hours, and the multitude that was fed, I know all of them were fed, because there was food left over.  And in spite of what some people may think, I don’t half way deliver people either, its just people like to use that so they can continue to do what they really like to do.  So with a smile I’m ever learning, but its good in a way, and I’m encourage to stay the course and learn from Him, even at times when I can see Him saying, though I love him, He’s got to do better.  Don’t worry we all will.    Food for thought, I hope you’re hungry.

Thought of Today 09

I have been enjoying reading the book of Joshua and their conquest of concurring the land.  How God gave them instructions on how to carry out their battle plan as well as what they were allowed to keep for themselves and what I have been reading so far is mainly the animals.  Any of the accursed things they were not allowed to take, the gold and silver and other metals were to be consecrated before God and then put into the treasury.  After the battle of Jericho was won, a man disobeyed God and took of the accursed things and by one mans actions it caused Israel to loose the next battle.  Upon finding out why they lost, the man was found and was destroyed; family and all, and then they went ahead and won the battle.  The lesson is disobedience to God can have a larger effect than what we think.  Having just one accursed thing (sin) in our life can cause us not to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven .  We are just pilgrims traveling through this barren land and merely occupying until He comes for us.   The last thing we need to do is get caught up in is the accursed things of this land.  If we find ourselves loosing battles, make an inspection and see where the problem lie.  God will always go before us directing our path, but we will find ourselves all alone if we are picking up the accursed things (sinful things) along the way.   Food for thought, I hope you’re hungry.

Thought of Today 08

It wasn’t so much that the Children of Israel just had to stay inside when the Angel of Death passed through killing the entire first born of Egypt , but blood had to be applied to the door post of each house.  No neighbor was covered as long as the other one had it, if there was no blood; there was no life the next day.  Today it’s the same thing, unless the blood of Christ is applied to our lives, we play a game that we surely will not win.  Satan is on the attack because he knows his time is getter shorter.  So there’s no wining and dining first, he’s making his move now before any can even realize what’s happening.  People are leaving here by the boat load, and it’s one disaster after another.  I’m not saying Satan is doing this, because judgment is in the land.  I’m saying Satan is keeping the people busy with other things until it’s to late to do anything when disaster strikes.  I know it’s appointed that man should die, but it’s better to die being covered by the blood (Christ), then to die not covered.          Food for thought, I hope you’re hungry.

Food for thought

There are some things that we can come up short at, and still be okay.  If I came in second in a race, I’ll still receive a metal.  If I missed one question on a test, I’ll still receive a high mark.  It not failure to come up a little short, either we will try a little harder next time or we will just accept what is and be happy at that.  In fact the only failure that carries the most weight is failure to enter the Kingdom of Heaven .  It’s not a pop quiz, or end of grade testing, not even a test you may have to take for a certain job.   It is your life and how you lived it that will determine if you enter in or not.  Accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior is the first thing you have to do to even get on the Highway to Heaven, and only abiding in Him will keep you there.  Many have almost made it to the last leg, only to give up at the end.  The road is never easy, but those to endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.  All through life we have had many failures and were able to bounce back from them, but failure to enter into the Kingdom, there is no bouncing back from that especially when we had our entire life to get it right.     Food for thought, I hope you’re hungry.

Thought of Today 07

Imagine how frustrated a doctor must be to have a patient dying from an illness, and he has the cure for it but the conditions are you will have to give up the thing that is causing it but the patient refuses because they love it, even though it is killing them.   A doctor can say look take this pill, or receive this shot, and I’m telling you you’ll be cured 100%, just please don’t do that anymore it’s going to kill you for sure.  Sadly they walk away, though they want to take it, right now they just can’t give up what they like doing.  I know the cure for sin; the Blood of Jesus can cure this disease right now without a shadow of doubt.  I’m telling you, you will die from this thing if you don’t receive Him.  All you have to do is accept Him in your life, and let Him take control and sin no more.  Alter call after alter call the sick continue to leave out the same way they came in dying and they do want to be cured but they just wont let go.  All Jesus can do is shake His head, He did His part, and we all have to do ours.   Food for thought, I hope you’re hungry.

thought of today 06

I remember growing up when at times we would have to eat liver for dinner and I can tell you it definitely wasn’t my favored.  Green beans, peas just wasn’t for me, and I know that all those things were good for me now; I just had no taste for it then.  It’s the same way, today my kids would rather have fast food then eat what their mother cooks at times ( and she’s a very good cook too, love you babe) but they too seem to stay away from things their body really needs.   When we are sitting at the Lord’s Table we have to eat everything that is set before us.  And we know at times the flesh is going to say Lord I had that yesterday, or I just don’t like the way it taste.  But He knows that everything that is set before you is for your good.  God is not going to fill anybody up with a bunch of junk that’s not going to be good for them.  Everything you receive from Him is nutritious to the soul which feeds off the Spirit of Christ so that you can grow and be strong in Him.  It may not taste that great at first, but the more we eat the stronger we are in Him, and the weaker we become to the ways of the flesh.    Food for thought, I hope you’re hungry.

Are you ready

When coming to Christ, I thought the greatest thing was for one to bear fruits of righteousness.  That seed fell upon good ground, and was able to grow, and it started to produce blooms, and in time you could see small fruit growing all over the tree.  God could come by inspect the tree and would be pleased by the way it was coming along.   That sounded easy enough, but then it came to me that it’s not enough that you bear fruit, but that your fruit must remain.  If we follow our daily routine in Christ we should be able to do just that, but if we become lazy, or preoccupied with other times our fruit will be affected by it.  A drought can destroy any harvest, and if there is no water how can anything grow.   The same applies for the fruit that we must bear before God, if we allow things to separates us from God we cause a drought in our lives, and those fruit that He was so proud of begin to dry up and fall to the ground because it wasn’t getting the daily nourishment it needed to maintain.   Jesus was hungry and seeing a fig tree he went to eat of it but found no fruit, He then cursed the tree, and it died.    Food for thought, I hope you’re hungry.

.Thought of The day

Food for thought

I’m sure we all have had our share of putting puzzles together, and the satisfaction that comes when finally finishing one.  Today they have so many kinds, and are even made of different kinds of material.  It takes patience to finish them especially when there are a lot of pieces, but the most discouraging thing about them is that you get to the end and the last piece is missing.  You search high and low but to know prevail, oh where or where is the missing piece?  You find a piece but it’s not the right one, you’re so desperate to finish that you try to stick that piece in any way, but it doesn’t work because it takes away from the whole puzzle.  You’re at the point you can’t sleep, you can’t eat, day in and out you’re troubled about that one piece.  To someone else it would be just a puzzle, but this puzzle had a 1000 pieces and I’ve done 999, and I’m just not satisfied knowing I’ve completed that much so it’s okay.  So the search continues day in and out, you find yourself going through other puzzle boxes examining each piece until one day you find it.  Some how it was put in the wrong box by mistake but after searching through about 10 boxes you have found that piece, and with such joy you rush over to the puzzle that was missing that piece and you put that piece in place and you just stand back and admire that puzzle because it is finally complete.  Even so we have to stand before God complete, not missing pieces, and not trying to make wrong pieces fit.  A person has to diligently search out God to get the things that they need to stand perfect before Him. If we become content with the way we stand before Him now, missing pieces, we have only ourselves to blame if He doesn’t accept what we offer to Him.  A person who is concerned about being complete before God will sacrifice their time to make sure everything is there and complete because the satisfaction or approval from God is worth it all.   Food for thought, I hope you’re hungry.

Food for thought

Imagine if I go to the kitchen, grab the tallest glass, put some ice in it, and get out my favorite beverage, and proceed to fill the glass just to let it sit. The glass sits and sits while the ice continues to melt and melt.  I don’t drink from the glass until the ice is totally gone, and when it is, I take a big ole gulp with the intent that it will be very satisfying, but its not.  We know the science of what happened; the ice melted and watered down the flavor.  So instead of that refreshing taste you got a bland drink that doesn’t serve any purpose at all.  Why did it have to be that way you asked, just should have drunk it when you poured the glass the first time.  It’s very sad to think that the Christian world is the opposite of this very act.  The teachings of Christ has been watered down so much that there is no clear distinction of right and wrong, do’s and don’ts.  The convictions from our actions are no more, merely washed down by the watered down version of what is.  It’s enough to know Christ, but not necessary to walk as Christ.  Okay what glass are we drinking from?  Can I take the suffering of Christ and water that down?  Instead of a crown of thorns they used weeds, and there were no spikes just 3 inch penny nails.  If I can’t water down the sacrifice that freed me from sin, how can I water down his doctrine just to suite my flesh?  I’m sorry but Christ didn’t give his life for the stuff that’s being accepted today.  Read the Bible, find out just what He said, and requires.  Watered down is not the same as just pour and drink.   Food for thought I hope you’re hungry.

Food for thought

I had a dream the other day about some kind of invasion, it’s a bit vague but the importance of it is hard to forget.  I do remember I was afraid and I went looking for my father. It was dark when I found him in the neighbor’s house, and I remember him very calmly sitting in a chair. I told him we had the go and he got up and we went out the door.  As we walked across the yard I spotted a man who then turned around and started towards us.  In a panic I screamed daddy use your powers and it was as if it was out of the movies, electric bolts shot out from his hands and the man felled down. Then my dad looked at me and said, you need some power, you need the Holy Ghost, and continued walking.  I awoke from my dream with my heart racing but I got what God was trying to say.  Without power we are always under constant attack from the devil.  It’s relentless at times because he wants to wear you down and keep you on the run.  We run to God, we run to our Pastors, and indeed they are there to help you, but Jesus said I must go that the Comforter will come and teach you all things.  He told his disciples to tarry in Jerusalem until they receive power from on high.  He knew that they couldn’t take the fact that they hung around Him, and witnessed the miracles and teachings and then have them go out and preach the gospel based on that, nah they needed power to stand against wickedness in high places.  Remember they all ran that night when the soldiers came to take Jesus away.  Not that Jesus was upset, He already knew His fate, but He knew He would be going back and his disciples needed something more.  As I’ve come to find, this walk is never easy, there seems to be trouble all around.  You’re happy to escape one situation just to find yourself in another.  Many today are falling beneath the load because they lack the power, or they have compromised their walk with Christ so drastically, that the devil all together has left them alone.  People we need that power, the Holy Ghost with fire, it’s hard for those who have it, imagine how hard for those without it.   Food for thought, I hope you’re hungry.

PS. A CAR CAN’T RUN WITHOUT GASOLINE, NEITHER A CHRISTIAN WITH OUT POWER. SURE YOU HAVE GAS WHEN IT COMES OFF THE LOT, BUT IT’S UP TO YOU TO TAKE CARE OF IT WHEN THAT GAS RUNS OUT.

.Thought of The day

Was doing my work today and as I worked I started thinking and said, “Jesus I never tell you I love you enough”.  And I felt a little bad because there are many things I love, but the most important person I felt I just wasn’t saying it enough.  I tell my wife I love her, I even had a favorite golf club that I loved to hit.  I speak that in pass tense because the club broke.  Hmmm maybe someone was trying to tell me something.  But even though I can tell my wife I love her, she always puts it in perspective for me, and sometimes it drives me crazy but I know it’s the truth.  She’ll say,” I know you say you love me, but how do I really know, there has to be some action behind what you say.  And so what can I say she’s right, we can say a lot of things with our mouth but it takes our actions to prove it.  Jesus said if you love me, keep my commandments.  Mere words wont do when confessing our love to Him.  Jesus I love you, but I told a lie, or I stole, or I used corrupt communications out my mouth.  I love you but I continue to let this flesh of mine put me in bad situations that cause me to shame your holy name.  So I guess Jesus is not really concerned about how many times we say we love Him, but more concerned about our actions behind this love that we confess to Him.  If you really love Him, keep His commandments. Food for thought, I hope you’re hungry

Constant Battle

There is always that constant battle that rages on within, and it’s either to live according to the ways of Christ, or fulfill the will of the flesh.  The winner is always the strongest, and that will be the one you follow.  How so, one may ask I live my life for Christ.  The Bible says the spirit and flesh is contrary, one against the other.  If we are in tuned to God then His spirit will show us and teach us his ways.  But if we’re not putting to death the things of the flesh then if not careful we will act according to it.  That is why we have to keep it under subjection or else it will constantly war with the spirit of God.  Now God is all powerful and there are no limitations in Him and He can keep you in any kind of test.  But if we are not doing our part, won’t we hinder the spirit from working affectively in our lives?  Why do we find ourselves doing things that are not of God?  Why did I just lie, why did I just steal, why am I coveting something that my neighbor has?   God I am so sorry, I didn’t mean to commit that act, and now I have sinned against you.  These are saying that He has heard time and time again yet the solution is always the same.  The more we allow the flesh to have its way in our lives we will always act according to it because we are allowing it to become stronger then the spirit of God.  It’s always great to ask for forgiveness for any act against God, but we also must learn that if we continue in this pattern we will eventually fall.  We have to fast more, pray more, and stay away from things that will entertain the flesh to work against God.  The battle will continue until you leave this earth, but the flesh doesn’t have to win, if we do our part and let the spirit lead you in all truth.    Food for thought, I hope you’re hungry.
