Food for thought 01

I had a dream the other day about some kind of invasion, it’s a bit vague but the importance of it is hard to forget.  I do remember I was afraid and I went looking for my father. It was dark when I found him in the neighbor’s house, and I remember him very calmly sitting in a chair. I told him we had the go and he got up and we went out the door.  As we walked across the yard I spotted a man who then turned around and started towards us.  In a panic I screamed daddy use your powers and it was as if it was out of the movies, electric bolts shot out from his hands and the man felled down. Then my dad looked at me and said, you need some power, you need the Holy Ghost, and continued walking.  I awoke from my dream with my heart racing but I got what God was trying to say.  Without power we are always under constant attack from the devil.  It’s relentless at times because he wants to wear you down and keep you on the run.  We run to God, we run to our Pastors, and indeed they are there to help you, but Jesus said I must go that the Comforter will come and teach you all things.  He told his disciples to tarry in Jerusalem until they receive power from on high.  He knew that they couldn’t take the fact that they hung around Him, and witnessed the miracles and teachings and then have them go out and preach the gospel based on that, nah they needed power to stand against wickedness in high places.  Remember they all ran that night when the soldiers came to take Jesus away.  Not that Jesus was upset, He already knew His fate, but He knew He would be going back and his disciples needed something more.  As I’ve come to find, this walk is never easy, there seems to be trouble all around.  You’re happy to escape one situation just to find yourself in another.  Many today are falling beneath the load because they lack the power, or they have compromised their walk with Christ so drastically, that the devil all together has left them alone.  People we need that power, the Holy Ghost with fire, it’s hard for those who have it, imagine how hard for those without it.   Food for thought, I hope you’re hungry.

PS. A CAR CAN’T RUN WITHOUT GASOLINE, NEITHER A CHRISTIAN WITH OUT POWER. SURE YOU HAVE GAS WHEN IT COMES OFF THE LOT , BUT IT’S UP TO YOU TO TAKE CARE OF IT WHEN THAT GAS RUNS OUT.

What does it mean to truly forgive someone?  I mean we ask for it quite often when we have wronged someone, but a lot of time the degree of what we’ve done isn’t so bad.  Now there are times when we hurt someone and the damage is so server that the one that got hurt really couldn’t stand to be around the one that hurt them.  This situation is harder on the one granting forgiveness, then the one asking it.  My mind goes back to Jesus hanging on that old rugged cross, after all the beating and the mockery. He did something that we today sometimes find so hard to do.  Note the people were not asking for it, but Jesus took it upon himself to ask God for it for the people.  He said, “Father forgive them for they know not what they do.” What’s remarkable is that Stephen with the spirit of Christ asked the same thing for the mob that stoned him.  When we walk this road of Christ, we will encounter all acts of evil against us.  It could be at work, at school, even in your own home, but having the spirit of Christ within us gives the wiliness to say I forgive you, even if the person asking it may not have really meant it or never even asked at all.  That is way we must at all times avoid handling these things in the flesh.  There are times when the flesh doesn’t want to forgive because of the pain that it has felt.  And if we are not careful we will not forgive, and the Bible clearly states we must forgive others, if we want God to forgive us.  Forgiving someone for the pain they caused is very hard to do, but letting the spirit of Christ work in us will guarantee a victory in Him.   Food for thought, I hope you’re hungry.

There are events that happen in our lives that are categorized as defining moments.  A moment where something inside you changes be it good or bad, you’re never the same.  It could be the joy of marriage, or the feeling of welcoming your first child, or the pain of an ending marriage, and a death of a love one.  In our mind we take these trips down memory lane searching out our pass that shaped and molded us to who we are today.   Some can laugh about it now, while others may still feel pain wanting to let go of all the memories because of how it makes them feel.  But then there are some right now that is getting a feeling inside, an uncontrollable feeling of gratitude and grace, love and appreciation.  Someone may be even throwing up their hand in a show of admiration, and praise because they know that the most defining moment ever to take place in their life was when they had accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.  And that person knows when that occurred they were never the same.  It’s just a reminder because we forget sometimes, when things get tough, and we struggle to carry on.  One of Jesus defining moments was the cross, though it was a tremendous toil, it made a way possible for you and me.    Food for thought, I hope you’re hungry.
